This topic invites students to think about how everyday service, kindness, and leadership can help bring people together.
The contest is open to New Hampshire students ages 13–19 who are not yet in college.
Your club is the local doorway into the Speak Out Speech Contest. Students may first hear about the opportunity from a teacher, counselor, parent, homeschool group, library, Leo Club, or youth organization, but your club helps create the local connection.
Participating clubs will help promote the contest, hold a local contest using the official statewide topic, and submit their winning contestant by December 15. The local winner will then present the same speech at the Mid-Winter Convention in January.
This does not need to be complicated. A successful local contest can be simple, welcoming, and well-organized. The most important thing is giving students a meaningful opportunity to share their voice.
Encourage students to find their voice, build confidence and develop leadership skills
